The reception will make you ready for the conference sessions on Friday and Saturday.

The speed with which the world of data science is advancing is unprecedented. There are myriad new methods, tools, and data sources coming available on a continuous basis. This impacts the skill sets required by the business community and, by extension, what universities need to offer to prepare students properly for their careers.‍

This talk will explore some of the analytics trends, emerging career opportunities, and associated ethical issues with an intent to challenge listeners to carefully consider what changes might be needed in today’s academic programs to respond to current developments.

Demosthenian Hall is the fourth oldest building at the University of Georgia and home to the Demosthenian Debate Society.

Constructed in 1824, Demosthenian Hall hosted debates on important topics of the day, and it continues to be used as the home of Demosthenian Debate Society and regular debates. Join us in experiencing and learning the history of this beautifully restored Hall and participate in a debate on the impacts of AI in the workforce. We will follow the Demosthenian Debate Society debating rules, which are fascinating. In route to the Hall, you will see and learn about the history of North Campus.  

The Southeastern Conference and the University of Georgia are famous for their football tailgates. Food, beverage, music, games, and socializing start early on game day and continue even after the game. Experience what is like with a Friday evening social hour and dinner tailgate at the Casey Commons in the Business Learning Community. Harry Dawg (the human version of Uga) might even make an appearance!
